JIAR Celebrates Dhanvantari Diwas with Homa, Shishyopnayan, and Community Bhoj
Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR) celebrated Dhanvantari Diwas with great devotion and enthusiasm on the campus. The celebration began with a sacred Dhanvantari Homa, invoking the blessings of Lord Dhanvantari — the divine physician and symbol of health and healing. Faculty members, students, and staff participated in the rituals with deep reverence.
On this auspicious occasion, the Shishyopnayan ceremony was also conducted for the new batches, marking their formal initiation into the study of Ayurveda and symbolizing the start of their academic and spiritual journey as future Ayurvedic physicians.
The management of JIAR extended their warm wishes to the students and highlighted the importance of Dhanvantari Diwas as a day of gratitude towards the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda. They emphasized the institute’s commitment to nurturing compassionate and skilled Ayurvedic practitioners who will uphold the values of traditional healing in modern healthcare.
The event concluded with a community bhoj (feast) for all, fostering a spirit of unity, devotion, and celebration. The entire ceremony reflected JIAR’s dedication to preserving Ayurvedic heritage while inspiring the next generation of healers.
